GreenEarth Heritage Foundation's November 2010 Newsletter

Just chanced upon in GreenEarth's site that the said newsletter is already out. Please find time to read the document so you can get an update on the projects and achievements they've done for that month. There's  also  previous months newsletter on their site.

We are also pleased to know and thankful too, that some of our works were featured on that newsletter. So in behalf of Advocacy Photographers, we thank GreenEarth Heritage Foundation for featuring us, and for having the opportunity of working with them, specially to some of their kids.

Here's 2 of my featured images;
The second image from above is already included in the blog entry I created last month. It was also included in the album I uploaded in Picasa Web Albums.

Please also visit GreenEarth's Facebook account for other activities that they might have in the coming days.

"JESUS is the REASON for the Season!" That's what GreenEarth said in their post here. So, Merry Christmas to all the readers out there! :-).

Merry "Pentax" Christmas 2!

As per the blog entry I made yesterday, here's what we got as a replacement for my wife's "old" camera...

The Pentax Optio H90. Of course, Pentax! Need to say more? Hahahaha :D

By the way, I got this "new baby" at Camerahaus Glorietta 5 branch. And through the help of Mr. Jonathan Sia (Camerahaus owner and PinoyPentaxian [PiPen] supporter), I was able to acquire it with some discount.  Thanks Sir Jonathan! :-)

Now, my wife's more than eligible to wear one of my PiPen shirts. I had two (black and white), and she likes to wear the black most. Aside for being a little small for me, it fits much better on her.

She's now also a "Pentax" shooting buddy aside from being a wife to me. Don't also forget my daughter that'll be for sure, she'll be tagging the "hands-me-down" "old" "new toy" of hers. ;-P

Olympus Mu (mju) 300 Retirement?

Finally, after serving my wife for more than a year, and after getting a "new baby" as a replacement, I guess it's time for this baby to retire. Unless...; my daughter wants to use it so we can all have our "own" camera, and she can eventually start learning & hopefully enjoy this photography thingy.

I know!!! We know that this is somehow old (but still a capable device), but it's actually a hands-me-down camera from my wife's foreign friend/office colleague, Terry Wallis. So, who we are to refuse and complain? :D If ever, this would be a hands-me-down of a hands-me-down camera for my daughter if she wishes to use and toy it with.

Now, what camera replacement we got? I'll post it on my next blog. ;-P

Pentax 35mm f/2.4 Lens

The SMC Pentax-DA 35mm F2.4 AL is a budget lens sold for only $219.95 from Pentax, meaning it will likely be even cheaper from other retailers. This lens features SP coating. The DA 35mm is available in 12 different colors. Despite being labeled as a DA lens (as opposed to DA L), it does NOT feature quick-shift focusing, and has a plastic bayonet as well as no distance scale on the focusing ring.

Unlike its previous brothers, the DA 35mm f/2.8 Limited Macro and the classic FA 35mm f/28 AL, this nice little gem uses a plastic mount as stated above, hence this is called a DA-L type of lens. As said from some reviews, Pentax used the "almost" same optics/glass elements of FA 35mm f/2.8 AL on this and thus was said to be the re-incarnation of the said FA lens.

Right now, I'm really bent on owning this lens and might ask somebody to buy it for me elsewhere, as the info I got that there's no definite date yet when it will be released by a local distributor here. I can't afford to get either the DA 35mm f/2.8 Limited Macro nor the FA 35mm f/28 AL even with the price of a second-hand. And I'm also really drooling on the output it shows from this reviews.

I'm not a naughty boy, Santa. So...

My 7th PPG

After waiting for more than 2 weeks with 3 rejected pictures out of 4 I submitted, finally, the last remaining pic gets approved and can now be seen here.

Every now and then, whenever I think I have picture/s that is worth submitting to Pentax Photo Gallery, I submit them whether it's a single picture or more than that . So far I have 7 images in that gallery.

Image submission in PPG is not a photo contest, rather an individual online gallery of Pentax users all over the world. The submitted picture/s before being displayed will be subjected by voting process of Pentaxians on the users list excluding the one who submitted the picture/s. So you will somehow gauge how your picture pleases the others. ;-P
